4 Steps to Make Your Workplace Safer for Employees During the Pandemic

Businesses around the country are starting to open. However, the Covid-19 is still out there, so you have to take the necessary safety precautions. There are several things that you can do in order to keep everyone safe in the workplace.

Social Distancing

Keeping a safe distance is one of the key things that can be done to keep everyone safe. You should encourage your employees to stay six feet away from customers and each other. There are several ways that you can encourage social distancing in the workplace. For example, you can spread the desks further apart. You can also limit in-person meetings.

Make Sure That the Facility Is Clean

One of the best things that you can do to prevent the spread of illness is to keep the facilities clean. You should take advantage of coronavirus disinfection services. The doorknobs, tables, faucets, sinks, ATM screens, touch screens and countertops are some of the areas in the office that will need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Any place that is shared by employees will need to be wiped down.

Encourage Hand Washing

Washing your hands is one of the best ways to prevent illness from spreading. That is why it is important for you to encourage everyone to wash their hands. You may also want to put hand sanitizing stations all over the building. Hand sanitizer can be used whenever someone cannot wash their hands with soap and water. It is best to have hand sanitizer that has 60 percent alcohol.

Don’t Allow Employees to Work Sick

Many people will still come to work when they are sick. However, this is something that should be discouraged. You can keep employees from working sick by having temperature scans. There are non-contact thermometers that can be used. Fever is one of the symptoms of Covid. If an employee has a fever, then they should be sent home.

You may also want to encourage your employees to work remotely if possible. If employees have the option of working from home, then they will be less likely to come into the office when they are sick.

Safety is the most important thing that you have to keep in mind when you are re-opening your business. Social distancing is one way that you can keep everyone safe. You can also encourage hand washing and have the building disinfected on a regular basis. Additionally, employees should not be allowed to work when they are sick.
