Top career tips from successful founders

Whatever stage you’re at in your career, there’s always plenty you can learn from people who have been there, done that and achieved great things. The founders of some of the world’s biggest companies have insights that are worth almost as much as their homes, but you can read some of them for free in a new guide from Resume.io.

For example, Steve Jobs was never one for sitting back and enjoying his successes, always looking for the next innovation and focusing on his next goal, so his tip was: “I think if you do something and it turns out pretty good, then you should go do something else wonderful, not dwell on it for too long. Just figure out what’s next.”

So why not follow his example and build on your successes by taking on fresh career challenges? It certainly worked out well for him and for Apple. Meanwhile, Spanx founder Sara Blakely has some other excellent advice: “Don’t be intimidated by what you don’t know. That can be your greatest strength and ensure that you do things differently from everyone else.”

Her lesson – that not being an expert in a subject can mean that you approach it in a completely new and fresh way, giving you the potential to create something as successful and popular as Spanx.

These are just two of the tips from founders you can read in this guide, so why not take a look and see what inspiration you can find there to guide your career.
