Screen time is increasing with each generation, with 21% of Generation Alpha predicted to spend over eight hours a day on social media, a 4% increase from Generation Z. 

From the table below, you can see that the percentage of the generation that spends over eight hours a day on social media is increasing over time.

t’s not just screen time that will increase with Generation Alpha, trusting peers on social media will also see a rise. PostBeyond predicts that a quarter (25%) of Generation Alpha will trust their peers on social media from opinions, reviews and recommendations, which is a 5% increase from Generation Z, and a 7% increase from Millenials. 

In addition to increased trust on social media, the next generation will be more tech-savvy than ever before. It’s predicted that over a quarter (28%) of Generation Alpha will shop through social media, a 5% increase from Millennials. This means that they’ll be able to get great bargains through internet shopping. Internet shopping is one of the most popular online activities in the world, and generation alpha have no plans in slowing this trend down.
