Mega Moolah, sometimes known as Millionaire Maker, is a progressive slot game and can be the route to becoming a millionaire. In 2018 along the jackpot was triggered seven times paying out a total of £50,220, 527!! The latest payout was around £3m, however, the information surrounding this hasn’t been confirmed as yet as the win has literally just happened at the time of writing this article. £3m is the lowest payout of 2019 to date though. This has now made the British Pound the third highest currency to payout with Euro and Canadian Dollars being second and first respectively. The winner receives the payout in a lump sum as with all of the MicroGaming progressive jackpot games – click here. MicroGaming regularly announces too just where the jackpot is sitting.

Mega Moolah was released in 2012 and is developed by gaming giants MicroGaming. In October 2015 the game was placed in the Guinness Book of World Records for paying out a World Record amount to a Brit, Jon Heywood, of £13,213,838 on a stake of only 25 pence. There have been two subsequent bigger wins but have remained anonymous so cannot be placed in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Mega Moolah can be played both on desktop and mobile but cannot be played in ‘fun game’ mode as there is always a contribution towards the jackpot fund from every bet.

The Mega Moolah theme is Wild Africa and the game offers 5 reels and 25 pay lines. The game also offers a Wheel of Fortune style jackpot.  The wild symbol is, of course, a lion and can double the winnings and the scatter symbols are Headhunter trophies, which can lead to fifteen free spins that can be retriggered, and then multipliers of three on all of the winnings.

The jackpot, which all players want of course, can be won on the Wheel of Fortune theme bonus game. There are four progressive jackpots; Mini, Minor, Major and of course Mega, Mega being the largest and with a guaranteed payout of GBP1m contributed by MicroGaming, however, as Mega Moolah is a progressive jackpot game then the jackpot pool increases with each players bet making GBP1m the absolute minimum win.

There are different themes of Mega Moolah, Mega Moolah Isis, an Egyptian theme slot, Mega Moolah 5 Reel Drive, an American Road Movie theme and Mega Moolah Summertime. All of these can be accessed from the Jackpot Bonus Game and although Mega Moolah is always referred to as the African themed slot game these games are linked to the original Mega Moolah and gives players the chance to win from the same jackpot. The Lord of the Rings and The Dark Knight were also different themes, however, these aren’t available to play now.

As with all progressive jackpot slot games there is little strategy that can help, as the win is entirely random. As always the longer the jackpot has remained in the pool without paying out then the more chance it has of paying out but other than that there is no strategy required. Jon Heywood won on a stake of 25p so don’t be fooled to think the more that is wagered means the better the chances of winning.
